On Sunday June 21st 2015 the Congregation of Alberni Valley United Church voted 99% in favour of becoming an Affirming Ministry. We are truly a safe place for LGBTQ people.
We, the Council of Alberni Valley United Church in Port Alberni British Columbia are distressed by the levels of poverty and homelessness in a society as wealthy as ours. At 11 percent, BC has the highest poverty rate in Canada. BC is one of only two provinces left without a comprehensive poverty reduction plan. Where is BC’s poverty reduction plan?

Shaping the future
Come and join with others who wish to learn more about being peace ambassadors as we discuss the book Cultivating Peace. The book is a brilliant mix of collective wisdom and practical strategies for peaceableness.
The cultivating peace discussion group will be conlcuding at Alberni Valley United Church, on May6th, 1:30-2:30 pm.
The co-facilitators are Mary Hetherington and Minnie Hornidge.
As facilitators we are hoeing there will be a group of 10 people. Are you one of them?
